THEN...
In the year 1882, construction on Eighmey Hall began. The building, which is the largest structure in the neighborhood, was named after local businessman Lewis Eighmey (1833-1908). In the late 1800s and early 1900s, the building housed storefronts on the first floor, including the Sugar Bowl and F.W. Woolworth’s five and dime store. The second floor consisted of apartments and office space, and the third floor featured a grand ballroom with the capacity for over 450 people. The spacious third floor was also used as a meeting place for various churches, organizations and even Sayre Area School functions.

Over the years, the building remained a familiar structure in the heart of Downtown Sayre. The first floor was home to various storefronts and restaurants throughout the 1900s and early 2000s.
AND NOW

138 years after its construction, Eighmey Hall became the home to 1882 on Desmond. Featuring elevated bar food, specialty cocktails, and a vast beer selection in a comfortable and sophisticated environment, 1882 on Desmond is the Valley’s new place to be.
